Lundy Foot is a finely milled, toasted, high nicotine blend, named in memory of the 18th century Dublin snuff chandler and Michael Larey, the "Irish blackguard", who inadvertently invented Scotch (scorched) snuff when he fell into a drunken stupor and allowed tobacco drying in a kiln to roast.
NB: As with any natural tobacco product, artisan nasal snuff can be susceptible to mould if it is not stored correctly. All of our snuffs are heat treated before packing to ensure an indefinite shelf-life whilst in the original, unopened containers. Our snuffs are traditionally made without chemical preservatives and we recommend that once opened the snuffs should be kept in the tightly closed brand container and stored in a refrigerator. Only decant using a clean, dry implement.

I took a second take on Lundy Foot after having tried Irish No. 22, which I liked and reminded me in a way of Lundy Foot. It seems to me that the second tin of Lundy Foot I bought contained a somewhat finer and fluffier snuff than the first tin I had. Maybe the recipe has been changed a bit, in a good way, or maybe my memory just fails me. Anyway, the tobacco scent is still amazing and the nicotine rush comes instantly. Now I've grown accustomed to toasts I must say that Lundy Foot is a favorite one. Not harsh on the nose anymore, but very pleasant and easy to take. I am glad I gave this one a second chance.
This is the first toasted snuff I've tried. It has a pleasant smell, but in the nose it gives way too much burn, and your nose starts to drip very soon after you've taken it. The nicotine content is quite high so this should be taken in small pinches, if taken at all. Lundy Foot is nowhere near as good as the Havana Toast from Sir Walter Scott's.
This is one of the best Toast I’ve ever tried. Very deep tobacco flavor. Nice sweetness from the tabacco. Rich and absolutely satisfying in nicotine.
