CUSTOMER REVIEW: I had heard that this was not a schmalzler in the strictest sense, but more of a halb-schmalzer which is a snuff-schmalzler hybrid. The grind is quite coarse, like sand, but presumably this is the moisture binding smaller particles together, as it does seem to crush under finger pressure. The moisture is like in the Brasil Feinst in that the oil moisture is inside the particles and they are dry on the outside.
Once in the nose (and you can take loads of it) it moistens up into a nice paste that will eventually find its way out by running or throat drip. The flavor is also unique among schmalzlers. It is the sweetest of Bernard's offerings, and has an excellent rum and maple scent. Very rich and nearly black. Kloster (or cloister) is a monastary, so this translates to 'Monastary Mixture'. This is one you must try if you are experimenting with schmalzers. It is unique.

Bernard Klostermischung 10g
Tabacco da fiuto...veramente buono.
This one has a wonderfully dark and thick scent. Maple/molasses that I find in other Schmalzlers. I can't find the rum other than a hint of maybe Vanilla mixed into the the normal Schmalzler scents I find. But this one has a mild smokey quality that sets it apart. The hint of smoke is what keeps me coming back.
