CUSTOMER REVIEW: Aecht is an antiquated German/Bavarian word for 'genuine' or 'real'. Its almost the equivalent of saying 'Ye Olde' in English. 'Altbayerischer' means 'Old Bavarian'. So you get the general idea, its the real old fashioned Bavarian schmalzler.
I find it to be sweeter and less smokey than the Brasil types from Bernard. It has deep rich notes of maple syrup, and I even taste the dried figs and dates that others have mentioned. Excellent with a hot cup of strong tea. Nice nicotine buzz.

I am new to snuff taking and really did enjoy the Bernard Aecht Alt Schmalzer. The weather is cold now so it enhances the experience with the Schmalzer. I am happy that my order had arrived and was waiting for me upon my return to the states.
Simply the best snuff ever created.
I have no issues ever with this one. Never ever get congested. Plenty of nicotine. And the deep smokey, dark, rich aroma which comes from this Schmalzler is beyond description.
My all day snuff. Use sparingly.
A must try.
This Schmalzler packs a punch. A heavy "Schmalzler" Maple/Molasses/Vanilla/Tobacco scent. Add to that a wallop of nicotine. This is my option for those hard to get moving mornings. A good coffee and a pinch or two of this and it's off to the races. Also, great for a nightcap. I wouldn't use this as an all day snuff, as I enjoy it more sparingly.
