The dominant flavor here is liquorice, not aniseed and you can get the difference by tasting Poschl's own Ozona Anis. The Lowen-prise was my first all day snuff. I still like the different phases that are remarkable here: at first, there's the sweet licorice accompanied by a trace of menthol, which after a while fades into a pleasant aroma of tobacco. For me, it's still five stars worth.

Many a snuff habitué claim that this delicious aromatic snuff is dominated by anise/aniseed? My senses tell me the main component is from liquorice and it is far from delicate but a heady component. I therefore use Löwen-prise sparingly and the sachet is my preferred purchase as it has the sealed-in flavour Pöschl intended one to experience. Once opened I reseal the sachet by bending the corner over and resealing with Selotape. Sachets are also excellent for travellers or just to keep a spare supply on ones person.
